Have you ever seen a sign that says “UNDER

CONSTRUCTION?” What does it mean?

UNDER
CONSTRUCTION
refers to a building,
structure, or
project that is
unfinished but
actively being
worked on.
Just like in our lives, we are
also under God’s construction.
He is still actively working on
us, 24/7 because He loves us.
And He wanted us to be
perfect like Him- in spirit and
in truth.
Answer this:

What are the changes you
can see in yourself as you
grow?

• Physically:
• My height last year: _________
• My height this year: _________
• My weight last year: _________
• My weight last year: _________
When you are younger there are things
you cannot do. Can you tell what are they?

But now, you can do a lot of things on

your own. Like what? Can you name some?
Yes! You are
changing and
growing. But
remember, we do
not only grow
physically but also
emotionally,
spiritually, and
intellectually.
Can you tell which are the things you can do
by yourself and things you need others to
help you?

1. I can pray
2. I can read the Bible
3.I can keep myself clean
4. I can prepare my things for class
5. I can keep my surroundings neat and clean
6. I can control my temper
7. I can express what I feel
8. I can do my homework
9. I can cross the street
10. I can clean my room
11. I can log-in and out of the computer
12. I can ride a bike

Well, you still have a lot to learn.

Yes, there are a lot of things you can do by
yourself.

There are things that you could not or was
not allowed do back when you were only in
Preschool and Primary Grades. Now that you
are in Intermediate Grade, you can do some
of these things by yourself.

But there are still some things that you

need help with. This is part of growing up.
We learn to take care of ourselves in some
ways yet there are also some things where we
need the help of grown-ups.
What are the things that we still cannot do on
our own? Tell the numbers.

1. Drive a car.
2. Ride a bike.
3. Have a job.
4. Help our parents by doing household
chores
5. Go to the mall alone.
6. Bake a cake.
7. Fix my bike.
We still have a lot to learn and we still need
some growing up to do to be able to do the
things we choose from above lists. Yes, we
are still a work in progress.

We still have some attitudes to change.

Growing up also means changing some of

our attitudes. As we mature, we also change
for the better and give up some of our bad
attitudes and habits.
What are the attitudes you personally have to change
about yourself?

1. Controlling my temper
2. Being selfish and not wanting to share who have
3. Putting off things that can be done today
4. Depending on others to do the things we do for
ourselves
5. Fighting with my brothers and sisters
6. Not being forgiving or bearing grudges against others
7. Being shy
8. Being easily discouraged
9. Saying bad words
10. Being lazy with my studies
God can help us
change our attitudes
for the better. The
Bible describes God
as a potter. We are
like the clay in the
potter’s hands.
What does the potter do with the clay? How does the
potter make something using the clay?
a. The potter asks the clay what shape it wants to be
and shapes it that way.
b. The potter forms the clay into the shape he wants.

What kind of clay would the potter want?

a. a soft kind that allows the potter to mold it
b. the hard kind of clay that is difficult to form into
shape
When we are the kind of clay that is soft and we obey what
God wants us to do, God lovingly molds us and forms us into
the shape He wants for us. He gently takes away our bad
attitudes and encourages us to follow Jesus Christ's example
God uses the Bible, our parents, our teachers, and our church
to teach us what is good and right.
When a potter makes a
pot a vase using some
clay, he smoothens the
hard surfaces of the clay
so that the pot can
come out the way he
wants it. Just like the
potter and the clay, God
smooths out the rough
surfaces of our lives.
The things that happen in our lives are God’s ways
of molding us into the people He wants us to be. The
things that happen in our lives do not happen just by
chance they happen for a purpose.

When good things happen, God is there to teach us

to be thankful and to appreciate God's blessings.
When bad things happen, God is there to teach us
patience and to learn lessons and bring good from the
sad or bad event.
What do you think?

Think of a character trait that God may be
teaching you when the following happens to you.
An example has been given.

What happened when you get stuck in traffic?

What God is teaching you?

Now answer this.
