There are two analysis part

1. Power Generation
2. Maintenance
About Santahar Power Plant

 Projected from BPDB in 2009


 HFO base power station
 Located in Santahar, Bagura
 Generated electrical power
since July, 2012
 Has six generating set, each
capacity 8730kW
Generation Information (May 2019)

 Total capacity = 52,380kW


 Total energy generation = 12113482kWh
 HFO per liter = 42.70Tk
 LFO per liter = 63.15Tk
 Lube Oil per liter = 320.00Tk
 Total amount of HFO = 2875008liter
 Total amount of LFO = 59012liter
 Total amount of Lube oil = 13312liter

Problem, Causes & Solution

Problem-01: Engine unstable, sudden changes in engine


speed

Reason: Solution:
1. Incorrect ignition timing Incorrect air fuel ratio inspected
2. Incorrect air fuel ratio software setting & check HFO
3. Misfiring in cylinders admission valve.
4. HFO pressure is too low
5. Incorrect software setting of speed
control parameters

Problem-02: Crankshaft does not rotates at starting
attempt

Reason: Solution:
1. Primary & secondary ignition Disengaged the turning gear of
system is failure crankshaft rotation & inspect rocker
2. No fuel to engine arm positions for jam free gives lube oil
3. Misfiring cylinders regularly.
4. Slow cranking speed
5. Control valve leakage

Problem-03: Lubricating oil pressure too low

Reason: Solution:
1. Lubricating oil level in oil sump to Check transducers & lubricating oil
low pressure control valve.
2. Lubricating oil pressure control valve
3. Faulty pressure transducers
4. Leakage in lubricating oil suction
pipe connections

Problem-4: Exhaust gas temperature of one cylinder
above normal

Reason: Solution:
1. Fuel supply insufficient Inspected exhaust temperature sensors
2. Faulty injection valve & check the high of screw.
3. Faulty exhaust gas temperature
measurement
4. Faulty exhaust valve
5. Screw in injection pump filter

Problem-05: Exhaust gas temperature of one cylinder

Reason: Solution:
1. Misfiring in cylinders Check exhaust gas transducers, check
2. Incorrect air fuel ratio leak in HFO system & check spark plug
3. Leakage in gas system electrode.
4. Faulty pre chamber valve
5. Faulty exhaust gas transducers
