Japanese militarism in WW2

Japanese were led into a military build up by Prime Minister Hideki Tojo
Japanese producers of
war materials
Mitubishi produced the most popular aircraft
in the Japanese airforce.  The Zero was the
most feared fighter.
Mazda made many of the weapons from
rifles to cannons.
Nissan built trucks, airplanes, and engines
Toyota built trucks.
Kawasaki built warships including the aircraft
carrier
Yamaha built propellers and gas tanks for
aircraft

•In 1941, the Imperial Japanese Army had 51 divisions[42] and
various special-purpose artillery, cavalry, anti-aircraft, and
armored units with a total of 1,700,000 people. At the
beginning of the Second World War, most of the Japanese
Army (27 divisions) was stationed in China. A further 13
divisions defended the Mongolian border, due to concerns
about a possible attack by the Soviet Union.[42] From 1942,
soldiers were sent to Hong Kong (23rd Army), the Philippines
 (14th Army), Thailand (15th Army), Burma (15th Army), 
Dutch East Indies (16th Army), and Malaya (25th Army).[45] By
1945, there were 6 million soldiers in the Imperial Japanese
Army.

and Toyota.

• 660 fighters, 350 Mitsubishi Zeros[36]

•The Japanese Navy was the third largest navy in the world at the start of
World War 2.
•The battleship Yamamoto was the star of the Navy.

•The Japanese aircraft carriers were converted battle ships.  A wooden flight
deck was added to the top of the battle ships.  The carriers were the most
feared of the Japanese navy.
