COLOR
COLOR
• is the element of art that is produced when
light, striking an object is reflected to the
eye
• is used to create harmony, balance, and
visual comfort in a design
• is used to evoke the desired mood and
emotion upon the viewer
• color theory and the color wheel are often
referred to when studying color
THREE PROPERTIES OF COLOR
Hue – which simply means the name we give to
a color
( red, yellow, blue, green)
Intensity – which refers to the vividness of the
color
sometimes referred as its
colorfulness, its saturation, its purity or
its strength

Primary - (red, yellow and blue)


Secondary - ( green, orange and
purple)
Tertiary - ( yellow-orange, red-

• are defined as the set of colors chosen
for a design
• made up of two or more color that look
appealing beside one another and that
create an aesthetic feeling when used
together
• depend on color harmony as they point
to which colors pleasing beside one
