Public Law 94-142 also known as, Education
Public Law 94-142 for All Handicapped Children Act, is an act that
guarantees all children with special needs,
ages from 3 to 18 receives, a free and
appropriate public education. It is applied to
every school in the country and every teacher, it
goes through extensive procedures to ensure
that all students are granted and get the
education that is needed.
Public Law 94-142 was replaced with IDEA in
Individuals with 1990, it is the same act, which is free public
Disabilities Education education for students. The only difference is it
helps students from the age of 3 to 21.
Act (I.D.E.A.)
Individualized education program (IEP) is a
I.E.P. program for students with a disability that
plans ahead to meet their needs and specifies
their educational goals, learning methods, and
the amount of special educational service
needed. The IEP plan is usually reviewed
annually by a parent or guardian, the student, a
teacher, a professional who has evaluated a
child, and a principal.
John F Miller is school the provides special
John F. Miller education programs and services for students
with special needs from the age 3 to 22 years
old. They have individualized education
programs that reflect their needs academically
and socially. This school provides students
every student to participate in activities of their
own interest.
Helen J. Stewart is a special education school that
Helen J. Stewart helps students with significant intellectual disabilities
and other secondary disabilities. Students from age of
6 to 22 can attend in this school. Their main goal is to
help student with academics, vocational,
communications, behavioral, and transitional needs.
This school includes classes such as music, art,
transition services, adaptive physical education, and
swimming. Speech therapist and physical therapist is
also included.
Miley Achievement Center is a K-12 school that
Miley Achievement focuses on mental health and positive thinking. Their

Center goal is to educate students emotionally, behaviorally,


and academically. They implement a strategic plan
and one of them is Positive Behavior Intervention and
Support (PBIS).
Variety Schools offers academic and vocational
Variety growth.
Homebound is a type of school service that provides
Homebound education to children who are unable to go to school
because of an illness, injury, or any other medical
conditions. This school service teaches children grade
level of K-12.
Least Restrictive Environment is an
Least Restrictive educational program that allows students with
Environment special needs to be placed in a general
education classroom as long as it’s appropriate
for the student with special needs.
