“Madaling maging tao, mahirap
magpakatao.”
• It means that we are basically a human person by virtue of
our body.
• But becoming human (pagpapakatao) involves the act of
love and care for other people. It is difficult (mahirap)
because expressing love, care, and other altruistic acts
toward other people is a choice to make by the person. It
does not happen automatically.
• It is important because the person is the one doing the act.
He is the one responsible and accountable.

in life?
Through the use of our critical reason
illumined by faith in Christ, we can
arrive at a deeper understanding about
who we are, a level of understanding that
becomes the objective ground for our
moral living.
becoming fully human entails a life-
long process of self-discovery. It calls
for patience and determination to
develop oneself to become a better
person to oneself, others, and God.
Christian moral life is a call to live a
life exemplified by Jesus Christ. It is
a call to become a loving person in
relation to God, the community,
and the environment.
Because, in Christ and through Christ, we
have acquired full awareness of our
dignity, of the heights to which we are
raised, of the surpassing worth of our
humanity, and of the meaning of our
existence. (RH 11)
Every person is created by God, loved and
saved in Jesus Christ, and fulfills himself by
creating a network of multiple relationships
of love, justice and solidarity with other
persons while he goes about his various
activities in the world.
And that, all persons are God’s image and likeness
(cf. Genesis 1:26), redeemed by the blood of Jesus
Christ (cf. Ephesians 1:7; Colossians 1:14), and are
sanctified by the indwelling Holy Spirit (cf.
Romans 8:14; 1:6 1 Corinthians 6:19).
What is the relationship between
Jesus Christ and the human
person?
Because, in Christ and through Christ, we
have acquired full awareness of our
dignity, of the heights to which we are
raised, of the surpassing worth of our
humanity, and of the meaning of our
existence. (RH 11)
