• Caused by a type of bacterium called Mycobacterium  tuberculosis

• Characterized by the growth of nodules (tubercles) in the tissues, especially


the lungs
• Caused by a bacterium called Clostridium tetani
• marked by rigidity and spasms of the voluntary
muscles
• Caused by the bacterium Borrelia burgdorferi and rarely, Borrelia
mayonii. It is transmitted to humans through the bite of infected
blacklegged ticks.
• Characterized at first by a rash, headache, fever, and chills, and later by
possible arthritis and neurological and cardiac disorders.
