What are some uses of lasers?

Lasers are used in CD and DVD players to translate the


digital information on the disk into sound and images for
example in laser printers, barcode scanners, DNA
sequencing instruments, fiber-optic, semiconducting chip
manufacturing (photolithography), and free-space optical
communication, laser surgery and skin treatments, cutting
and welding materials, military and law enforcement
devices.

In English a phrasal verb is the combining of two
or three words from different grammatical
categories — a verb and a particle, such as an 
adverb or a preposition — to form a single
semantic unit on a lexical or syntactic level.
