According to Richard and Rodgers (1986), there are some principles about the direct methods: Classroom intrsuction was conducted in the target language, Only everyday vocabulary and sentence were taught, Oral communication skills, Grammar was fough inductively, Both speech and listening comprehension were taught, Correct pronounciation and grammar were emphasized. The principle of this method is that students communicate spontaneously and verbally.
