Welding

• Welding is a materials joining process which produces


coalescence of materials by heating them to suitable
temperatures with or without the application of pressure
or by the application of pressure alone, and with or
without the use of filler material.
• Welding is used for making permanent joints.
Different Types Of Welding Joints

Four Basic Welded Joints:-


•Butt Joint.
•Corner Joint.
•T – Joint.
•Lap Joint.
Butt Joint
Butt joint:- A joint between two members aligned approximately
in the same plane.
Corner Joint
Corner joint:-
A joint between two members located at right

angles to each other.

Open & Closed Corner


T-Joint

T- joint:-
A joint between two members located approximately
at right angles to each other in the form of a T
Lap Joint

Lap Joint:-
A joint between two overlapping members.
