George Enescu (19 August 1881 – 4 May 1955), known in
France as Georges Enesco, was a Romanian musician.
Enescu is regarded as one of the greatest musicians in
Romanian history; he was a composer, violinist,
pianist, conductor, and teacher.
Biography

Enescu was born in Romania, in


the village of Liveni, then
in Dorohoi County, today Botoşani
County. His father was Costache
Enescu, a landholder, and his
mother was Maria Enescu. He was
their eighth child, born after all the
previous siblings died in infancy.
His father later separated from
Maria Enescu and had another son
with Maria Ferdinand-Suschi, the
painter Dumitru Bâșcu.
George Enescu (born on 19 August 1881, Liviu – deceased on 4 May 1955, Paris)
was a composer, violinist, pedagog, pianist and conductor and is considered the
most important Romanian musician. Born in Liteni in Botosani county, he has
shown a great inclination for music since his childhood. He receives the first violin
instructions from a Gypsy Lautar, followed by the first serious lessons in
Botosani. He started to play in the violin at the age of 4, at the age of 5 he appears
in his first concert and begins composition studies under the guidance of Eduard
Cadella.
Between 1888-1894 he
studied at the Vienna
Conservative, with Joseph
Hellmesberger (violin) and
Robert Fuchs (composition)
among others as teachers.
She quickly fits into
Vienna's musical life with
her concerts in which she
performs compositions by
Johannes Brahms, Pablo
Sarasate, Henri Vieuxtemps,
Felix Mendelsohn-Bartholty,
enthusiastic the press and
the public, although she was
only 12 years old
During World War II, left in
Bucharest, he has a rich lead
activity, encouraging the
works of some Romanian
musicians such as Mihail
Jora, Constantin Silvestri,
Ionel Perlea, Sabin Dragoi.
After the war he performs
with David Oistach, Lev
Oborin, Emil Ghilels and
Yehudi Menuhin, who visits
him to Bucharest and Sinaia
