PNEUMOTORAKS
• Tension pneumothorax arises from numerous causes and rapidly
progresses to respiratory insufficiency, cardiovascular collapse, and,
ultimately, death if not recognized and treated. Therefore, if the
clinical picture fits a tension pneumothorax, it must be emergently
treated before it results in hemodynamic instability and death.
