As part of student's English homework
this year, students will be required to
use a website called Newsela. For those
parents who are not familiar with it, it is
a reading / comprehension program that
monitors the student's reading progress
and adjusts the reading level
automatically as the student improves

. Each article that the student
reads, also contains a quiz for the
students to complete. It is important
that students complete this work by
themselves with very minimal
assistance, otherwise the work and
the results of the student become
invalid.
