INTRODUCTION

Joy phonics is an adapted and simplified teaching approach that has

been taken from the Linus guidebook for Year 1 pupils. It is a simple
teaching technique that you can use to introduce phonics to children in a
fun and memorable way. As a result of using this technique, you can
see teachers and children working on phonics with confidence. It does
not require much resource preparation and at the same time it can help
you to involve all the pupils at the same time. You can easily draw
pupils’ attention to the differences in the pronunciation of the sounds in
English. Joy phonics takes a short time and can be used as a routine
activity at the beginning of the lesson.
THE SOUND OF EACH LETTER OR SOME SOUNDS
REPRESENTED BY TWO LETTERS ( DIGRAPHS ) IS
ASSOCIATED WITH A MOVEMENT OR FACIAL EXPRESSION.

THERE ARE ALSO SOME SONGS AND CHANTS DURING THE

TRASITION OF EACH SOUND TO MAKE IT FUN AND
ENJOYABLE.
