• One of the least expensive


• Useful when instructor is the main knowledge holder
• Most efficient and direct way to provide learners with
that knowledge
• Demonstrate subject-matter experts passion and
enthusiasm for a topic
DISADVANTAGE:
• One way: not effective if goal is shared responsibility
• Details get lost in the shuffle after 15-20 minutes
relative passivity of employees
• Depends totally on trainers effectiveness and
information
• Usually no record of key points
• Words and figures can be easily be garbled

• Video taping trainees allow them to see and hear their
own performance without the interruption of the trainers
DISADVANTAGE:
• Too much content for the trainees to learn
• Poor dialogue between reactors
• Overused of humor or music and drama
