 Once Rachel becomes pregnant, Ted reluctantly agrees to move and give up the cat, but their house
wasn't sold, and Belinda Carlisle still haunts their home.
 Every day the cat becomes fatter and smelly. When the house burns to the ground in a freak
conflagration and the couple's daughter, April, is born blind soon thereafter, the marriage is never
the same again.
 while reading we witness the character of rachel to be completely insane.
 But the author somehow makes her seem not only human but makes her action seem not
acceptable  but understandable from narrative's perspective.
 Meanwhile back in the present  her daughter refuses to speak her when she calls, So rachel becomes
increasingly desperate to hear her voice.
SUMMARY OF CONTENT

 Overall this is a worthy read and a remarkable creation.

 Author has used shock tactics to grip the readers.
 Even though there were some dark humours I would not describe this as a funny story.
 A fast paced and an interesting story.
 The character of rachel was well developed.
 Though the ending ought to leave you satisfied, but it make us feel sorry for this fictional family and
their broken condition.
 I came to know that it's not safe for women to have cat during
their pregnancy because this will cause a disease called
toxoplasmosis to unborn child which is caused from the faeces
LEARNING of cat.
AND KEY  It shows the image of a middle class
