sampagita, the white dainty flower, long
considered as the national flower of the
Philippines. Across the country the
sampagita is indeed renowned as it delicate
white petals and unmistakable scent is
commonly used metaphor for the Filipina
maiden: simple, modest yet alluring

camaraderie and
sportsmanship.

that means to gather. The festival aims to bring
people together and to showcase what the province
has to offer, from its delicious food to its charming
tourist spots.

The story starts with the narrator recounting his early


years in Mindoro and Romblon, Acquainted with two
languages and cultures, Tagalog and Visayan, it is the
water that separates these two places that is closest
to his heart. His numerous travels, however, bridges
the distance.

Noli Me Tángere, Latin for "Touch me not", is an 1887


novel by José Rizal during the colonization of the
Philippines by the Spanish Empire to describe perceived
inequities of the Spanish Catholic friars and the ruling
government.
