CRANES - ADVANTAGES • Ability to plumb over the lifting point • Single man operation, control luffing, slewing and hoisting. • Straight lift means that SWL is usually adequate. • Rotate 360 degrees. CRANE- DISADVANTAGES • Complexity of operation requires lengthy maintenance • SWL decrease with jib radius, because the span becomes less effective. • Large amount of deck space required for installation.
