OBJECTIVES:
• Solve problems involving wavelength, frequency, and

energy of an EM waves.

• Compare the relative wavelengths, frequencies, and

energies of the different regions of EM waves.

BRIEF INTRODUCTION
All Electromagnetic waves travel through a
medium but unlike others it can travel through a
vacuum as well.
Electromagnetic waves bring energy by means of
their electric and magnetic fields. These fields exert
forces and move charges and performs work on the
system.
BRIEF INTRODUCTION

The larger the strength of the electric and magnetic

fields, the more work they can perform, therefore
the electromagnetic wave carries greater energy
shown by its amplitude. The wave energy is
determined by the wave amplitude.
