WHAT DID THE CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT
ACHIEVE?:
1. African Americans gained the right to vote.
2. Schools became desegregated.
3. Discrimination was outlawed in many areas besides
education, including the military, public transportation,
work, and housing
4. It represented hope for African-Americans and it was the
precedent to continue their fight
