STEVE IRWIN

• Steve Irwin is better known as the crocodile hunter, He was a zookeeper


and conservationist, he achieved the world fame with the television
series, The crocodile hunter.
• Steve's parents created the small Queensland Reptile and Wildlife Park,
where Steve grew up surrounded by crocodiles and other reptiles.
• Steve got involved in the park in different ways; One of his duties was to
feed the animals every day and take care of them , He also caught his first
crocodile at the age of nine
• He started to manage the park in 1991 and changed the name to "Australia
Zoo".
• Irwin was a passionate conservationist
and he always shared his enthusiasm
for the natural world.
• The zoologist generated some
controversy when he fed a giant
crocodile while he was carrying his
newborn baby in his arms
• Steve Irwin was 44 years old when he died.
• He died when a stingray's tail pierced his heart while he was filming a
documentary.
• Irwin's death shocked several world leaders, naturalists and humble
Australians who called him a "good guy".
