ACTIVE VOICE
Active voice is the normal voice.
This is the voice that we use most
of the time. in the active voice,
the object receives the action of
the verb. In most English
sentences with an action verb, the
subject performs the action
denoted by the verb.
Ex: shinta bought the book
shinta (subject) is doing the buying
(verb)
PASSIVE VOICE
Passive voice is less usual. In
the passive voice , the subject
receive the action of the verb.
We use the passive voice when
we want to make the active
object more important.
Ex: the book was bouht by
shinta
The book (subject) was being
bought by shinta (object)

been watched by them.

been bought by her.
WHEN TO USE THE
ACTIVE VOICE
1. If your writing has a high urgency, and must
be easily understood and processed quickly.
For example: instructions, restrictions, etc.
2. Passive Sentences has a rather vague
character, in addition to being digested for
a long time so that it is now beginning to be
avoided in scientific work because it tends
to give the impression of twisting or hiding
facts.
3. If you need to save writing space, such as
advertisements in newspapers, for example.
4. If your writing contains many facts or
variables, you should avoid using passive
voice
WHEN TO USE THE
PASSIVE VOICE
Use passive voice in the
following situation :
1. When you do not know or do not want
to reveal the ferformer on an action.
2. When you want to emphasize the
receiver of an action.
Ex:
Awkward passive : my bycicle was
repaint by Dev
Deliberate passive : my bycicle was
repaint. ( the ferformer is not
mentioned and emphasis is on the
bycicle)
