ADJECTIVE
An ADJECTIVE describes a noun.

Examples of words that describe are:

mean, smooth, lumpy, ugly, pretty
For examples:

The dancer wore a beautiful dress.

Today was a sunny day.
NNOUN
A NOUN is a person, place, or thing.

Examples of words that are nouns

are: dog, boy, house, store.

these examples of nouns in a sentence:

We had to go to the store to buy

food.
The dog ran quickly home.
 VERB
A VERB expresses action or activity.
Examples of words that are verbs are:
run, hop, jump, swing, swim Verbs can
change to show past,
Examples of present, & future
action:
ran, hopped, jumped

the example of a verb in a sentence:

He threw the baseball to first base.

A PRONOUN substitutes a noun and
marks for a specific person.

Examples of pronouns are:

he, she, they, his, her,
you
