characteristics and rhythm of Cha cha
cha;
• identify the basic step of Cha cha Cha;
• know the health benefits of Cha Cha
Cha;
• perform the basic steps and the
combination of steps in cha cha cha
properly and accurately;
WHAT IS CHA CHA CHA?
• It is derived from the two dances : the Mambo
and Swing.
• It was introduced in the United States in 1954.
• It is done with the feet remaining close to the
floor.
• The hip action executed by the dancers is
called Latin or Cuban Motion.
CHARACTERISTICS OF CHA CHA CHA
• It is a vibrant, flamboyant and playful dance.
• The light and bubbly feel of the Cha cha cha gives
unique sense of fun for dancers throughout the world.
• It requires small steps and lots of hip motion ( Cuban
Motion)
• The five steps are danced to four beats as in the “ One,
two, cha cha cha” rhythm.
