“…unless correct ideas of true worship and

true reverence are impressed upon people,

there will be a growing tendency to place the
sacred and eternal on a level with common
things.”
Ellen G. White
BIBLICAL PRINCIPLES
OF WORSHIP
EMPHASIZED
BY ELLEN G. WHITE
God alone should be the
center of our worship.

PRINCIPLE # 1
“You shall have no other gods
before Me.”
Exodus 20:3
“Jesus answered, ‘It is written:
‘Worship the Lord your God and
serve him only.’” Luke 4:8.
Worship must be Bible-based and
not only based on outward forms.

PRINCIPLE # 2
“Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that
cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so
worship God acceptably with reverence and awe,
for our “God is a consuming fire.”
Hebrews 12:28
True worship is spiritual.

PRINCIPLE # 3
“Yet a time is coming and has now come when the
true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit
and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the
Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must
worship in the Spirit and in truth.”
John 4:23-24
True worship is partnered
with God’s will.

PRINCIPLE # 4
“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view
of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living
sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your
true and proper worship.”
Romans 12:1

“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts,
since as members of one body you were
called to peace.
And be thankful.
Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly
as you teach and admonish one another with all
wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from
the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your
hearts.
And whatever you do, whether in word or deed,
do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving
thanks to God the Father through him.”
Colossians 3:14-17
