SERVANT-FIRST
The servant-leader is
servant first… It begins
with the natural feeling that
one wants to serve, to serve

choice brings one to aspire

STUDY

Mayor XX is the newly elected mayor of YY Municipality.

One of his campaign promises is to build a 1 km farm-to-
market road from Sitio A to Poblacion Highway. True to his
word, they allocated and approved 10 million pesos to this
effect. A proper bidding was conducted and the one chosen
was Contractor ZZ.
A week after awarding the project to Contractor ZZ, their
staff BB went to the office of the mayor to deliver PhP
500,000 pesos gift. BB said that it is part of their company’s
social responsibility for the improvement of the Municipality.
Mayor XX thought about it deeply. He did not
ask for the money. A proper bidding conducted.
As a servant-leader of the municipality, many
people ask money from his office for medical,
funeral and education needs, etc. The PhP
500,000.00 is a big help for his people.
If you were Mayor XX, would you accept the
PhP 500,000?
