● Register is a subset of language as defined


by purpose and setting.

Language
● A language produced by articulate sounds, an oral
language is a produced with vocal tract. It tends to
convey subjective information.

● A representation of Spoken or gestural by means of


a writing system.

should follow the rules of the English language.

rules are less important. An informal language
understood only by certain groups, it is acceptable
in spoken language but not in written language.
