The United States of America is
a federal constitutional republic
comprising fifty states and a federal
district. The country is situated
mostly in central North America,
where its forty-eight contiguous
states and Washington, D.C., the
capital district.

Lie between the Pacific and

Atlantic Oceans, bordered by
Canada to the north and Mexico
to the south. The state of Alaska
is in the northwest of the
continent, with Canada to the
east. The state of Hawaii is an
archipelago in the mid-Pacific.
The country also possesses
several territories in the
Caribbean and Pacific.
The history of the United States
starts with the Declaration of
Independence in the year 1776, yet its
territory was occupied first by the
Native Americans since prehistoric times
and then also by European colonists
mostly following the voyages of
Christopher Columbus starting in 1492.

The Thirteen Colonies declared

independence from the British Empire
during the American Revolution and as
states ratified the Articles of
Confederation. In 1789 the Constitution
became the basis for the United States
federal government.
Slavery of Africans was abolished in
the North, but heavy world demand
for cotton let it flourish in the
Southern states. The 1860 election of
Abraham Lincoln calling for no more
expansion of slavery triggered a crisis
as eleven slave states seceded to
found the Confederate States of
America in 1861.
The bloody American Civil War
(1861–65) redefined the nation and
remains the central iconic event. The
South was defeated and, in the
Reconstruction era, the U.S. ended
slavery.
The U.S. rose as an
industrialized power by the early 20th
century.

JOHN F. KENNEDY
John Fitzgerald "Jack" Kennedy (May
29, 1917 – November 22, 1963), often
referred to by his initials JFK, was the 35th
President of the United States, serving from
1961 until his assassination in 1963.

After military service as commander

during World War II in the South Pacific,
Kennedy defeated then Vice President and
Republican candidate Richard Nixon in the
1960 U.S. presidential election. He was the
second-youngest President .Kennedy is the
only Catholic, and the first Irish American,
president, and is the only president to have
won a Pulitzer Prize.
Strange coincidences between the lives of two U.S. presidents
Coincidentally or not between the fates of two American presidents, whose life and
work were held at a distance of 100 years, there striking similarities. The wide range of
coincidences, gleaned only a few, quite shocking, wrapped up today in a total mystery.
What happened to Presidents Abraham Lincoln, assassinated in 1865, and John
Fitzgerald Kennedy, assassinated in 1963, it is amazing. Prior to his presidency, both
were members of Congress, Lincoln was elected in 1846 and Kennedy in 1946. As U.S.
president, Lincoln was elected in 1860, on November 6, and Kennedy in 1960,
November 8. Both have career and ended their career after the attacks, shot on
Friday. Both preidents were shot in the head by a left-handed man. When the attacks
(Lincoln was killed in a theater, and Kennedy, in an open car on the street), both
presidents were accompanied by their life partners, who have not had anything
damaged. At the helm of the U.S. after the assassination of the presidents the ones
who replaced them had the same surname and were born at the exact difference of 100
years. Andrew Johnson, Lincoln’s successor, was born in 1808, while Kennedy’s
successor, Lindon Johnson was born in 1908. Both survivors had been vice presidents
and came from the southern U.S..
Finally - but the series of coincidences does not end there - after the death of the 2
Johnson, there had been talks of their involvement, through the U.S. Secret Service, in
liquidation of their predecessor. And what's incomprehensible nor till today has not
made full light on those attacks, is still closely guarded secret archives. And it's a
country that claims to be the most democratic in the world!
