Expressing the function of

comparison and contrast

 To express the function of comparison students were used to use the comparative and
superlative forms :
 more+ adj / adjective+er or most+ adj/ adj+ est
There are various ways to express comparison in addition to these forms
Students need first to understand that when they are comparing they are trying to
look for similarities.
When you are contrasting you will be looking for differences.

As well- in the same way- in a similar way– Whereas- while- in contrast- unlike-
so do/did/is was- similarity- the same- both – The most striking/most obvious difference
all- neither- none
