The developing detailed diagrams

and test for constituent structure

Verb classes and constituent structure
It is involve :
Phrasal verb and prepositional verb
Before turning to some detailed tree diagram which represent sentence English.
I want to discuss about the difference between phrasal verb and prepositional verb.
Example:
*Those smugglers shock off their pursuers.
*Those smugglers relied on the weather forecast.
In the first example, we can take the repositions off and place it immediately after
the direct object.
In the second example we don’t have a transitive verb, but instead we have a verb
rely and the verb does not have direct object at all

English has a vast number pf phrasal verb, both transitive and intransitive. Further
example of transitive kind included turn over, pull down, pick up, switch on, break
off. Intransitive such as wake up, sit down, sleep in, turn out.
