INTRODUCTION
PLANT COMMUNITY

Plant can be used to reduce the

impact of pollution as
phytoremediation. Plant also can
exposes and accumulated of toxic
and metal pollutants as
hyperaccumulator.
Example

Ipomea sp. Mikania cordata Salix viminalis Allysum corsicum

(CN) (Pb) (Cd) and (Zn) (Ni)

TOXIC POLLUTANTS

Toxic material can come from heavy metals, pesticides to flame retardants,
and dangerous chemical compounds that are inseperable from life, used or
consumed by us. Toxic hazardous materials (B3) exist as raw materials in
the production process in industry, mining or manufacturing. Then as part
of product and as waste (solid, gas and liquid).
In general, the properties of B3 are :
◦ Explosive
◦ Flammable
◦ Reactive
◦ Ber (poisonous)
◦ Infectious (infectious, corrosive)

Vegetative growth response of Cyperus
kyllingia on polluted land oil

Cyperus kyllingia plant was able to grow on contaminated soil of

petroleum waste. The response of plants in the face of stress can
be seen in vegetative growth I the form of growth of shoot number,
tem height and leaf length. The higher the concentration of TPH
on the soil the lower the growth rate
