BACKGROUND
Problem statement: A growing number of young people in Ohangwena,
Kavango west and Kunene region are unable to obtain employment and be self-
sufficient due to lack of confidence, education and skills required by the industry.

o Second most populous region


o High number of school drop outs
o High rate of unemployment among youths
o Most dominant activities mainly subsistence farming and rain fed
agriculture
o Many youths hang around at Shebeens due to lack of youth centres
and youth activities

1. Manufacture of fabricated metal products
2. Metalworking service activities
3. Manufacture of agricultural and forestry machinery
4. Manufacture of automotive parts
5. Manufacture of parts and accessories for motor vehicles
6. Metal structures to customer specifications
 Target Market:
o First priority - Ohangwena Region out of school
youths in villages , townships and those on the
out-skirts of national parks and in the
wilderness ( forest areas), other regions
o Learners who did not survive formal education
o Industries for In-service Training and
Apprenticeship

1. Programme Expansion beyond VTC Level ( Diplomas and Degrees)


2. Programme Diversification ( Agriculture, Education Diploma focus-ing on
Primary Teachers, ICT in Education and Pre-Voc, Rural and Youth
Development programmes such as Textile and Crafts , Tourism & Hospitality
including Tour guiding and Baking ) and Retail and Wholesale
3. Expanding on Tutorials .
4. Scale up the Entrepreneurship Hub activities and Youth
5. Exchange Programmes
6. Rural Internet café
7. Catering services

1. Minimum charge to pay the technical staff and
maintenance
2. Will be in both monetary form or in kind
3. Farmers’ one stop shop
