Shampoo was derived from a sanskrit word

“champoo”
First shampoo was made up by amla and ritha
Shampoo consist of a cleansing agent known as
“surfactants”
Surfactants help in removing dirt, dust
impurities sweat debris etc..from hair and scalp

Smoothner : To smoothen the action of anti
agent
Anti oxydant :to avoid oxydation during storage
Colorant : To accentuate the presentation
Perfume : for plesant fragrance
Base : which treats the hair and scalp

• The surfactants helps to separate the oil

molecule so that they are no longer attracted
to each other
• The surface also acts as a bridge between oil
and water in order to wash away the sebum
