What is an HRIS?
•HRIS stands for Human Resources
Information System. The HRIS is a system
that is used to collect and store data on an
organization’s employees.
•HRIS encompasses the basic functionalities
needed for end-to-end Human Resources
Management (HRM). It has a system for
recruitment, performance management,
learning & development, and more.
•An HRIS is also known as HRIS
software.
•The HRIS can either run on the
company’s own technical
infrastructure, or, what’s more
common nowadays, be cloud-
based. This means that the
software is running outside of the
company’s premises, making it
much easier to update.
Information Provided by HRIS:
1. Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
2. Payroll
3. Benefits
4. Time & Attendance
5. Training

HRIS and the INTERNET
Companies are taking advantage of the Internet for HRIS
in three ways.
1. They use the Internet as a means for
communication and data exchange.
2. They use the Internet as a place to

obtain information and expertise.

3. They use the Internet to acquire new

applications (or software) that enable
them to perform new and different tasks.
Alignment of Business Planning
and HR Planning
1. Understand the business strategy
and current state challenges.

2. Identify how people contribute to

organizational growth and success.
3. Design and implement your HR
talent strategy

4. Measure your HR strategy.
