Plan for Renewable Energy

 In order to decrease dependency on fossil


fuel and reduce pollution, Government of
Bangladesh has adopted “Renewable
Energy Policy-2008”

 At least 10% electricity generation from


renewable sources, by 2030.

 In line with this policy, NWPGCL signed an


Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with
China National Machinery Import & Export
Corporation (CMC) on 27-Aug-2019.

 The total capacity of these Solar and/or


wind based power plants would be up to
500 MW approximately.
