THE CRIME OF THE MISSING

DOG
LAST NIGHT
SOMEONE STOLE MY
DOG
• Last night someone came to my house
and stole my puppy Bambi!
• She was in the back yard and I heard
her cry and as I rushed to the back door
all I heard were tires screeching.
• By the time I made it to the back door,
the vehicle was already gone!
WHO TOOK BAMBI?

• Fortunately for us, Mrs. W had heard some rumors in the staffroom at lunch
that one of the other teachers wanted to steal Bambi because she is
soooooooooooooooo cute!
• Mrs. W is the only one who is not a suspect!
GATHERING
EVIDENCE

• Last night when I went out in the alley

to look for evidence, all I could find is
tire tracks
• The tire track from the crime scene is
enclosed in this “CLASSIFIED”
envelope
WHAT WE NEED TO DO FIRST

• In teams of 2you will go out into the staff parking lot

and take recordings of the tire prints on the staff
vehicles.
• We will either be doing tire rubbings, but if it is too
wet you will have to draw the tread design in the
square provided
• Also remember to put the type of vehicle and the
color at the top
EXAMPLE
• When you have collected all the tire prints in the staff parking lot, we will
come back in and each group will be given a classified envelope!
• You will open the envelope and examine the tire track left at my house
• After you are done, you will take out the tire track from your worksheet of the
person you think committed the crime and put it back in the envelope
• Put both your names on the worksheet of the suspect you think committed the
