 OBJECTIVES

 GENERAL
To classify the PET plastic waste for the design and building of
a separation machine.

 SPECIFIC
To define by means of a sampling method the PET plastic
waste in Yopal urban areas.
To evaluate strategic collection points for the PET plastics.
To make a collection center with modules of different sizes.
To identify benefits in the implementation of a PET waste
separation machine in Yopal, Casanare
 MAIN IDEA

Our project consists on the elaboration of a machine

that is going to be able to categorize PET plastic
waste taking into account it’s size, our project has
as a main proposal to place the machine in different
strategic points such as malls and principal
supermarkets.
This problem is due to the lack of civic culture,
responsibility and lack of education from citizens in
general. Thus, the daily waste generated ends
mostly in the sanitary landfill and it reduces its
storage capacity.
 METHODOLOGY

TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THE OBJECTIVES…

 For the first

Application of field and digital surveys to the water company and
different recycling organisations to identify the points where PET
waste is most generated.
Identify the points (urban area) where most PET waste is generated
A type of stratified sampling (pilot) will be carried out in institutions.

 For the second

Install an optical sensor to determine the physical characteristics of
the bottles when they enter in the machine
To have a meter that generates a notification when the cell occupies
its maximum volume
 
 For the third
Selection of the site or location that meets the optimum
safety conditions for the storage of PET waste
 For the fourth
Incentives will be given to users who use the machine
Carry out environmental education campaigns in the area
where the machine will be installed
