QUANTIFIERS
KVANTIFIKATORI
Kvantifikatori odgovaraju na pitanja "How much?" i "How many" (Koliko?)
Mogu se koristiti sa brojivim (countable) i nebrojivim (uncountable) imenicama.
Kvantifikatori se moraju slagati sa imenicom. Postoje 3 glavne vrste
kvantifikatora:
imenicama.
SOME/ANY
Osnovna razlika, dakle, nije u značenju nego u upotrebi.
Some i Any se koriste i sa brojivim i nebrojivim imenicama:
I've got to do some work before I go out.
I haven’t bought any apples.
Is there any oranges left?
UPOTREBA KVANTIFIKATORA SOME
Some koristimo u potvrdnim rečenicama (+)
I have bought some apples.
I have some homework to do.
She was at the cinema with some friends.
SOME + COUNTABLE NOUNS : u ovom slučaju, “some” ima isto značenje
kao i “ a few”(nekoliko).
There are some students in the class.
SOME + UNCOUNTABLE NOUNS
There is some cheese in the fridge.
UPOTREBA KVANTIFIKATORA ANY
Any koristimo u pitanjima i negativnim rečenicama.
– pitanje - negativna, odrična rečenica
Have you bought any apples? I have not bought any apples.
Have you got any brothers or sisters? I don’t have any homework to do.

ANY + COUNTABLE NOUNS

There aren’t any people on the moon.
Are there any doctors in your family?
ANY + UNCOUNTABLE NOUNS
There isn’t any milk in the bottle
Is there any bread on the table?
IZUZECI
Exceptions:
Some
1. Ako nešto nudimo nekome i očekujemo pozitivan odgovor, u pitanju koristimo some:
Would you like some apples?
Could I have some tea?
2. Kada nešto zahtevamo:
Can I have some cake?
Could you give me some information about your firm?
Any
You can come and ask for my help any time.
MUCH/MANY/A LOT OF

• She has got much influence on you.
• There isn’t much sugar in the kitchen.
• Is there much rain in Istanbul?

Nekome se može učiniti da se i to može brojiti, npr: two litres of milk, five kilograms of
sugar, two glasses of water.
i čaše.
I have many postcards
There aren’t many people in the streets.
Are there many books in your bag?

nebrojive imenice.
There weren’t a lot of choices.
A FEW/FEW

We spent a few days in Paris.
(Proveli smo nekoliko dana u Parizu.)
I just invited a few friends.

Few of his stories are true.
RAZLIKA IZMEDJU A FEW I FEW

I have a few close friends in town, and we have good time

together.
(Imam nekoliko prijatelja u gradu, i dobro se provodimo kad
smo zajedno)- pozitivna konotacija
I have few friends in town, so I feel lonely from time to time.
A LITTLE/LITTLE

A little изражава малу количину.

Let's go and have a drink. We've got a little time before the
train leaves. (a little time = some time, enough time to have a
drink)
'Do you speak English?' 'A little.' (So we can talk a bit)

There is little sugar in my coffee. Could I have some more?
RAZLIKA IZMEDJU A LITTLE I LITTLE
A little znači malo ali dovoljno a little znači malo, nedovoljno
There is a little time left = Ostalo je malo=dovoljno vremena >>> Imamo još malo
vremena
There is little time left = Ostalo je malo=nedovoljno vremena >>> Nemamo više vremena
Give me a little time = Daj mi malo=dovoljno vremena
I have coffee with a little milk = Pijem kafu s malo=nešto.
I have coffee with just little milk = Pijem kafu s malo = tek trunkom mleka.
We have a little make. Let’s make a cake.
We have little milk. We can’t make a cake.
malo = dovoljno/ nešto: a little
malo = nedovoljno/zaista malo: little
