Chester Hoist for Cold Temperatures
•Designed and built for Arctic
temperatures
•Proven performance in Alaska,
Siberia, and N.W. Canada
•Experience to -50 degrees.

•Special heat treatment and tempering

of castings for cold temperatures
•Charpy tested and certified steel plate
and structural shapes.
•Low Temp lubricants.
•Bronze and stainless steel materials
which are less effected by frigid
temperatures vs most carbon steel.
Optional Special Features

Positive Engagement Trolley Drive

Available option for most Chester trolley hoists. Can be offered with either rack and pinion or
sprocket and roller chain configuration. Permits safe operation of trolley hoist on inclines and
controls trolley when beam shifts due to sea motion. Ideal for shipboard use and on floating
platforms. Available with bronze pinion for spark and corrosion resistance.

Trolley Track Clamp

Can be added to most Chester trolleys and trolley hoists. Hand chain actuated. The jaws grip the
lower flange of the trolley beam, to act as a parking brake. Can be used to park the trolley and
restrict it from moving due to wind, or sea motion. Available with stainless steel jaws and
stainless steel or aluminum hand chain, for spark and corrosion resistance.
