effectively; and

the basic skills to be developed to
understand, retell, and discuss what is
heard. Certain strategies are applied to be
able to connect your prior ideas and post in
a particular subject.

BASIC STEPS IN LISTENING
EFFECTIVELY
Before Listening
1. Connect -Think what you already know
about the topic.
2.Predict - Make guesses what you may learn as you listen.
Guessing helps the brain to focus.
3.Talk about New Words – Talk about the words (pre-
assigned words) with a friend or listen to a free audio
dictionary for the meaning.
During Listening
1.Listen for Answers – As you listen,
answer the question you have. Looking for
answers gives you reason to listen and
makes your mind active and alert.

2. Take Notes – Write notes that help you
remember ideas.
During Listening
3. Re listen – When ideas are hard and you
found it boring, re listen to it.
After Listening
1. Respond– Respond to the questions
given before listening. You may write your
reaction whether you agree or disagree.
2. Summarize – Read the notes you have
taken while listening.
3. Extend – Read and listen to other sources
about the topic.

• After listening, choose one task to accomplish


individually.
 Extract the Meaning of the Song through Differentiated
Activities. (15 minutes)

 Write a short script or dialogues
 Take note that your dialogues should be based on the message implied in the
song.
 Deliver the script clearly and record it using your cell phone or any voice recorder.

illustration or drawing.
 Draw an illustration which highlights the message of the
song.
 State your reasons for making the illustration.
