Exercise 1:
An adsorption column is used to remove
contaminant gas from a reactor feed stream.
At steady state, the optimum operating
condition of the adsorption column is at
30 bar, 80oC. After every 6 hours cycle, the
column is put on regeneration by passing
heated nitrogen at 220oC for 3 hours. After
that the column is put on stand-by for the
next cycle of operation.
Considering the size of the adsorbent is 10 mm diameter, predict the minimum
time for the column on stand-by to go back into its’ cycle of operation.
