There are many examples of materials


that teachers can use to implement
coding into their lessons. This page
contains all links to activities,
textbooks, and manuals for teachers
and students.
Teacher Manual
The Teacher’s manual is an introduction to programming that
guides teachers through the basics of programming and how to
use the website.

Basics included in the manual:


- Pencil Code Environment, Lines and Points
- Input/Output, Loops, Functions
- Conditionals, javascript, Arrays
- Nested Loops, Recursion
- HTML and the Web, jQuery

Tha manual also provides coding standards, links to examples,


and a pacing guide for teachers.
Student Activities
The Activities for Students page provides
worksheet and guidelines for different levels
of activities for students to participate in. This
page contains instructions for setting up an
account, beginner, intermediate, and advanced
activities. At the end of the page, there is a
section where others can create and contribute
their own lessons and guidelines for
participants.
Pencil Code Book
Pencil Code has provided a student manual or
textbook that can be downloaded as a pdf or it
can be purchased on Amazon. The Pencil Code
book provides the information needed to learn
the basics of programing and how to use their
website. This book is designed for student’s
and other participants.
