PNEUMONIA
AFFECT THE
LUNGS?

Pneumonia is an infection of the lungs – it can be caused


by bacteria, viruses and fungi.

The infection will cause the alveoli to become inflamed


and to fill with fluid or pus.

This will make it hard for the oxygen to enter the alveoli
and thus enter the bloodstream.

Cough producing a greenish, yellow or bloody mucus,

Fever,

Sweating,

Shaking chills,

Shortness of breath,

Rapid and shallow breathing,

Chest pains,

Loss of appetite,
