 A computer is an electronic device which takes input, process

it, give output and store it for later use.
 A computer is a machine that accepts data as input, processes
that data using programs, and outputs the processed data as
information.
 The term computer is derived from the Latin term
‘computer’, this means to calculate or
programmable machine.

“ Computer can be used in many fields of life. Today
the science and technology is so fast that there is
a big use and information needed. A user also
should have a brief knowledge about computer to
use it. A user is anyone who communicates with
the computer or utilizes the information it
generates. Students, a type of user, have more
tools to assist them in the learning process.

Computer works at a very high speed. It can perform many

calculations in a fraction of a second. Computer can also move an
object around a computer screen very quickly. Many computers
process billions or trillions of operations in a single second

Computers can store huge volume of data. To put
this into perspective, physical files that can fill a
whole room can be stored in one computer once
they are digitalized.
With a computer, we can store videos, games,
applications, documents etc. That you can access
whatever is required. Storage can be backed up fast
and easily.

With the internet, we can communicate with
people faster throughout the globe. You can
send E-mail, hold voice and video calls or use
IM services. The internet also allows for instant
sharing of files. You can also connect with your
family, friends and relatives by using internet

process when using a computer.

This makes computer ideal for doing tedious and

repetitive work. Collaboration is therefore, easier.
