 Doha Development Agenda Nov 9-13,2001(Doha,Quatar).


 Multilateral Trade Negotiations and services.
 2 declarations was passed-
1. Negotiations in agriculture and services (Doha Development Round)
2. Agreement on Trade Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights
(TRIPS).
 Meeting had taken place 2 months after the world trade center attack.
 China joined as 143rd member country.
5th Ministerial Conference

 Held at cancun, Mexico, 13 sep 2003 (President Vincente Fox)


 Unsatisfactory progress of Doha Development Agenda is discussed.
 Trade should benefit people and not just markets and economies.
 Special consideration of tariff reductions on staple foods.( to avoid dumping from
developed countries).
 Development of African continent.
6th Ministerial conference

 Hongkong Ministerial conference.(Hongkong convention and exhibition centre)


13-18 dec 2005.
 Representatives from 148countries were expected and over 10000 protestors of
Hongkong people alliance and south Korean farmers.
 Duty free tariff access for goods from least developed countries by developing
countries.
 Market Access, Domestic support, Export subsidies, services, Singapore issues.
7th Ministerial conference

 Geneva, Switzerland 30 nov-2 dec 2009


 General theme was discussion on “ The WTO, the multilateral trading system and
the current global economic environment.”
