What does
professionalism mean
to you?

• Professionalism to me means the

way you carry your self in either
your workplace, business, or
school. By this I mean the
conduct, behavior and attitude you
give in an environment.

How must you carry yourself in classes, and at
workplace?

You must carry yourself in the following ways:

 Good Judgement: includes considering the consequences of
one’s actions, thinking before acting and speaking and having
the tools to make good decisions in a variety of situations.
 Polite behavior: simplest way to put this is treat others how you
want to be treated, be considerate that everyone is different, and
that not everyone will think and act the same way you do. If
someone is not respectful towards you, this does not mean you
will also be disrespectful, be the bigger person.
 Dress professional, the way you dress can say a lot about a
person.
 Punctuality: Arriving on time demonstrates commitment to your
job and to your classes.
 Keep yourself positive: no matter what keep your self positive,
even when having a bad day, bringing your bad attitude into the
workplace or classes reflects poorly on you. Do not take your
feelings out on others, “Leave your problems at the door”.
Plan for assisting others to be professional in the
workplace
Be productive: use
your time
productively at work,
focus on your job
and responsibilities.

Develop a
professional image:
dress in the position
you aspire to be.

Demonstrate
integrity: be
accountable for your
work and actions
while behaving
ethically at ALL
times.
