SHORING
Temporary repairing of the damage or weak area of the
ship is called Shoring to complete the mission or
proceed to reparing place such as PN Dockyard or
JNB .
TYPES OF SHORING
There are three types of Shoring.
1. Vertical Shoring.
2. Horizontal Shoring.
3. V or K type Shoring
VERTICAL SHORING
This type of Shoring to be carried out Deck to Deck.
When the Deck is damage due to any reason then it
will be done.
HORIZONTAL SHORING
This method of Shoring to be carried out on bulkhead.
When a bulkhead damage due to any reason then it
will be done.
V OR K TYPE SHORING
This method of Shoring to be carried out on Door or
Hatch. When a compartment will flood and cannot
control then we close the compartment from flooding
then this shoring to be done on door to Hatch of this
flooded compartment.
