Bank Wiring Observation Room Experiment Illumination Experiment
The job is attaching wires to switches Relationship between lighting and productivity was
studied.
An observation room was set up to observe 14
workmen which included some weak workmen.
In the experimental room the lighting was changed
The researchers expected that the group will constantly.
compensate for the weak workmen. The production only suffered when the lightning
became so low, but under all other lightning
But the group reduced the output to the level of conditions the production went on increasing even in
the weak workmen in order to protect them the standard lightning room
◦ They concluded that increased levels of productivity resulted from increased attention,
rather than changes in the work environment.
