What is Constructivism?

and experiences that its either
determined by social and cultural
environment.

•Radical Constructivism

•Social Constructivism
Cognitive Constructivisim

• Information processing, knowledge acquisition by

individual learner.

• Accurate internalization and construction of

external reality.
Radical Constructivism

• Knowledge acquisition,social interaction as

source of knowledge

• Maintain the internal nature of knowledge and the

idea that while an external reality may exist.
Social Constructivism
• Lies between transmission of knowable reality of
cognitive constructivist and the construction of
personal and coherent reality of radical
constructivist.

• Comes from social nature of knowledge,

knowledge is a result of social interaction and
language.
