nurse. He wants Molly to give money for her Little
sister Annie.

• Molly:
She is rich who is celebrating her fiftieth birthday. She has a small
party at home. She is determined to not give more money.
She is widow. Her husband died last winter. She has got two
daughters, Diane and Jackie and her son Roger. She likes her dogs.
She is not very warm and loving withe her children. She is very
serious and mean. She is quite selfish. She cares about herself.
Nobody loves her.
JACKIE

• She is thirty years old. She lives with her mother. She is very nice
and polite. She is quite tranquil and submisive. She does all the
things that her mother says.
She was in loved with Tom, but her mother doesn`t want her to
marry him because he is poor. For Jackie, money is not important.
Jackie is sad and is very angry with her mother Molly.
She never receives love from her mother. She decides to kill Molly,
but is she happy now in prison?
DIANE

• She is the youngest daughter. She is very beautiful

and sincere (frank). She wants to be a Singer.
• She doesn`t love her mother because her mother
doesn`t love her father. Diane likes expensive things.
She lives in a room in London. She wants to be a
singer and she sings very well, but she never gets a
job.
ROGER

He lives in an expensive house in Cambridge and has an

expensive car. He loves expensive things. He wants her
mother to sell the garden, but Molly doesn`t want to.
He is very materialist /məˈtɪəriəlɪst/. Money is very
important to him.
He lost his job and he needs her mother`s money.
TOM

• He was the gardener In Clarkson´s house.

He was in love with Jackie. He buys the
sleeping tablets, but he doesn´t kill Molly.
He lives next to Molly´s house.
PETER HOBBS

• He is seventeen years old. Molly doesn´t like

him. He lost his first job because of Molly´s
letter.
He is very furious. He says that he wants to kill
Molly.
